Board Meeting - 7/30/2015

MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF SERRANO WATER DISTRICT

The Board of Directors of the Serrano Water District met in a special board meeting on Thursday, July 30, 2015.  The meeting was held at the District Office located at City Hall, 17855 Santiago Blvd., Villa Park, California.

CALL TO ORDER:  President Pharris called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

PUBLIC COMMENT

None.

SWD CUSTOMER PETITION DELIVERED TO DISTRICT

General Manager Vilander reported on the recent petition received by the District.  Petitioners were requesting a delay in the effective date of the water increase from August 1, 2015 to October 1, 2015 and suspension of the penalties.  Comments from the public were received.

SWD WATER CONSERVATION PENALTIES

Following lengthy discussion and comments from the public, it was moved (Director Haight), seconded (Director Freschi), and unanimously carried with Directors Rickerl, Haight, Pharris, Bryant and Freschi voting yes to suspend the penalties for the months of July and August 2015 and reinstate them on September 1, 2015.

SWD JULY 14, 2015 WATER RATE INCREASE

Comments were received from the public.  Discussion ensued.  It was determined that the rate increase of $3.75 per unit of water with one unit included in the readiness to serve charge would remain in effect at this time.

ADJOURNMENT

The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 p.m.  The Board of Directors thanked all attendees for their input and time.
